Boys U11A Clerihan 0 - 4 Peake Villa
Team A travelled to Clerihan and had a very good win.
Boys U13 St. Kevins 4 - 0 Peake Villa
A good 1st half performance by Villa but unable to score saw them go in at half time 1-0 down. The wind picked up in the 2nd half and the boys were always under pressure conceding 3 in the 2nd half.
Boys U15 Peake Villa 6 - 1 Moyglass
Villa won this league game comfortable and we’re 3-0 up at the break with goals from Jack Hackett 2 and Eoin Ryan 1. The 2nd half was all Villa as well and they added another 3 with Kieran O Mahony scoring twice and Frank Mc Kevitt adding another before the end, Moyglass scored a consolation before the end.
Munster Junior Cup - Junior A Park United (Cork) 4 -3 Peake Villa
Villa travelled to Michelstown for this 4th round tie and wer’e unlucky not to win. They took the lead after 15 minutes when Noel Kent was on target. Park got back level after a very harsh penalty and they scored again a minute later to lead at the break 2-1. Villa were well on top in the 2nd half but found it hard to break down a stern... defence but they got their reward with 15minutes to go when Kent was again on target with a header from a corner. Villa went 3-2 up with 10 minutes to go from a Eugene Davy drive. Villa then pressed the self destruct button and with 5 minutes to go conceded only to concede again 1 minute later to lose the tie 4-3. A disappointing result when the game was at their mercy.
Sunday 19th January
Boys U11B Vee Rovers 1 - 0 Peake Villa
U11B Team put in a fine performance away to Vee Rovers just losing out by a single goal.
Girls U12 Cashel Town 3 - 0 Peake Villa
This game was decided on chances converted. Villa had 7 good chances to score and couldn’t convert them where Cashel showed more calmness in front of goal and took their chances well. A great performances again by Saoirse Teer and Ellie Maher.
Girls U16 Cashel Town 1 - 2 Peake Villa
Cashel went 1-0 up in the 5th minute in an end to end game which saw two very determined teams go at it. Villa drew level just before half time when Shonagh Cleary was on target. It was close in the 2nd half also but Irish international Sarah McKevitt scored the winner 10 minutes into the 2nd half with a free kick which sees the girls go top of the table in their league.
Junior B Sleveardagh 0 - 2 Peake Villa
A great win away for the B team which sees them go 4 points on top of the league but this is a very tight division with teams behind them with games in hand. Villa started well and went 1-0 up when Davy McGuire put Matty Stakelum through to score in the 25th minute. Davy came close shortly after when his shot went narrowly wide. Villa went in at the break 1-0 up. The 2nd half saw Villa in complete control with the home team having no shot at goal throughout the game with Villa’s defence playing very well and the mid field in complete control with Stevie Fewer putting in a man of the match performance. Villa got their 2nd in the 70th minute when Dale Loughnane’s shot was saved by the keeper only to fall to Matty Stakelum for his 2nd of the day.
