Premier Division League Junior A Peak Villa 2-2 Clonmel Town
Villa entertained Clonmel Town in the league on a blustery Sunday morning up at the Tower grounds. Villa did most of the pressing early on without creating too much. First chance of the game fell to Pippy Carroll but his shot was deflected just wide of the post. Villa had the wind at their backs and that brought its own problems with through balls been over played. 0-0 at the break.
Clonmel had the wind in the second half and they didn't take long to capitalise on it when they took the lead with just two minutes played in the second half from a fine strike by Keith Guiry into the top corner. Villa responded quickly and were level three minutes later when Pippy Carroll put Ronan McGuire through on goal and he made no mistake slotting it passed the Clonmel keeper. Both sides had half chances after this but it looked like a 3rd goal wasn't to be but with three minutes left a great cross from Keith Cahill was flicked on by Pippy Carroll into the bottom corner of the Clonmel net. It looked like Villa were going to snatch the win but for the second time in three weeks they couldn't see out the game against Clonmel opposition conceding a late equaliser when Shane O Meara found himself in acres of space and made no mistake scoring from six yards out in the 90th minute. Final score 2-2.
Division 2 League Junior B Peak Villa 1-3 Suirside
Villa came up against a strong and well organised Suirside in a game which was played in atrocious conditions on Sunday afternoon. Villa looked bright early on playing with the wind but spurned a couple of chances early on with Damo Grimes and Kieran Hennessy shooting wide from good positions. Despite Villa looking threatening Suirside went 1-0 up just before half time with a header from a corner, their 3rd or 4th corner in quick succession.
In the second half Villa pushed on playing into the elements but were caught napping on the counter attack and now found themselves 2-0 down. Despite suirside been reduced to 10 men they again, from a Villa corner counter attacked and made it 3-0 to the visitors. Villa piled on the pressure upfront and reduced the arrears to 3-1 through a Kevin Croke header. The majority of possession was now with Villa but the Suirside defence coped well, with their keeper pulling off some fine saves at the death to allow the visitors take all 3 points.
Best players in a disappointing day for Villa were Kevin Croke and Davey Carroll.

Our Youths had our first home league game today to Clonmel Celtic on a blustery wet afternoon. Villa started slow and Celtic had much of the play for the first 15 minutes. Villa picked up the pace and started getting on top, they created a number of clear chances to no avail. But on the half-hour mark Frank McKevitt struck a free kick from 35 yards out into the top corner, 1-1. It stayed all square at the break, HT 1-1.
The second half was a tough hard fought even battle and Villa's hard work paid off with 15 minutes to go Jack Casey was brought down in the box and Kevin Patan cooly slotted home from the spot. Clonmel Celtic did everthing they could to force an equaliser but Villa held on with great grit and determination to take a well earbned 3 points.
