Peake Villa played host to Donohill today looking to continue the good form in the league. Despite a bright start Villa, again as in recent weeks fell behind to an early goal from the visitors. Villa regrouped and after 4-5 corners and lots of pressure on the visitors goal got the equaliser through a fantastic effort from Darragh Byrne. Darragh went close soon after as Villa began to dominate and soon went ahead after some more sustained pressure. A corner was finished to the net by Kieran Hennessy. The Peake Villa back line had to be on their toes with the visitors forwards very speedy on the counter attack. Half time 2-1 to Peake Villa,
Within a minute of the restart Villa went 3-1 up through Damo Grimes who scored a deserved goal for his work rate up front and got another soon after to reward some great work from young Darragh Byrne to make it 4-1. TSDL Youth League Division 1 Peake Villa 0 - 0 Cahir Park
Villa hosted fellow unbeaten side at home on a gale force windy day with the conditions limiting quality play. Villa had the wind with them in the first half, but it was difficult for the players to judge the wind, in what was a scrappy first half. Villa's best chance was a strike from Ronan McGuire from 30yards which was fingertipped over the bar by a great reflex save by the Cahir goalkeeper. Five minutes before the break Villa were reduced to ten men when Frank McKevitt mistimed a challenge while trying to win the ball back. Half time Peake Villa 0-0 Cahir Park.
The second half saw a great fighting team performance from the Villa squad who were playing against the elements and with ten men. Villa created the better chances with Aaron Delaney making a great impact off the bench, Ronan McGuire went closest when a cross found him at the back post only to volley inches wide. Final Score 0-0, which was probably a fair result, it also means that Villa keep their unbeaten record intact and came out with credit for their team spirit and fighting qualities.
