Munster Youth Cup 1st Round Peake Villa 3-0 Cahir Park
Scorers Michael Nally (1), Ronan McGuire (1), Ben Slattery (1)
Villa hosted Cahir Park in their first cup outing of the season on a pitch perfect day for football. The visitor's started sharper and played a lot of the better football for the first thirty minutes. Villa were well organised at the back, limiting Cahir to scarce chances but then the game changed when Killian Ryan was brought down in the box and Mikey Nally stepped up to convert the penalty. Villa grew in confidence after this and kept the lead intact to go in at half-time 1-0.
The second half saw Villa start as they had finished the first half. They had the momentum and were creating more chances with Ronan McGuire menacing in Cahir territory. With twenty five minutes remaining he got his reward when good work on the right from Jordan Fahey, who was outstanding all game, played a lovely pass into McGuire who bet two defenders and cut back onto his left, to peg a beautiful shot which finished in off the crossbar into the top right corner, from just outside the box. 2-0 to Villa. Villa then dominated the remainder of the game and got their reward of a third when McGuire broke through the centre and laid on a lovely pass which found Ben Slattery on the edge of the box who drilled it into the bottom corner. Special mention of Jordan Fahey, who played a man of the match performance with an incredible afternoon and display of defensive and attacking football down the right side. Villa now travel to Mullinahone next week in round 2 which will be a tough affair.

TSSDL u14 Championship Clonmel Town B 3-3 Peake Villa B
Scorers Angel Gonzalez (1), Guille Gomzalex (1), Dylan Nevin (1)
Villa played their first game of the season today in Clonmel against a strong Town side. The first half completely belonged to Villa and a combination of good goalkeeping and a few missed chances looked like it was going to go in all square at the break. But a fine solo run and cool finish by one of our Spanish debutants Angel Gonzales gave Villa a deserved lead. 1-0 half time.
Clonmel started the better in the second half and a combination of good goalkeeping and fine defending kept Villa in front. Villa extended their lead when the second of our Spanish boys and twin brother of our first goal scorer, Guille Gonzales tapped the ball home from close range. Clonmel replied immediately with a direct free kick hitting the top corner of the net to reduce the deficit. Ten minutes later they were on level terms after a goalmouth scramble saw the ball end up in the Villa net. Villa pushed on again and Dylan Nevin capped off a man of the match display with a well taken goal. With five minutes left Clonmel struck an equaliser and pegged Villa back again. Villa can count themselves unlucky not to have come away with 3 points in this fiercely fought contest.
SFAI National Cup u12A Thomastown 3-1 Peake Villa.
Scorer Tom Delaney (1)
Villa went 1 down after three minutes when a penalty was given after the Thomastown player struck the ball at Tom Delaney from two yards away. From the penalty Fionn got down well and nearly saved the penalty but the ball spun back in. After fifteen minutes Thomastown scored again when they broke down our left hand side and Fionn made a great save but the ball rolled towards the goal and Conor Gleeson got back to clear before the line but the referee awarded a goal from his position over the half way line even to the amazement of Thomastown supporters. Thomastown went 3-0 up when a free kick was given outside the box and they hit the post and the ball came back into the middle where four Thomastown players were offside from the initial kick. Villa scored on the stroke of half time when Villa pressed the Thomastown keeper into a mistake and Tom Delaney battled to score.
In the second half time Villa played great football and created numerous of chances. Most notable when Artem played Keith Loughnane through on goal and forced a great 1v1 save from the Thomastown keeper. Artem nearly scored from the edge of the box twice when he cut in from the right wing. Eamon Groome worked tirelessly and nearly scored deep into the second half. Ronan O'Brien, Darragh Chute, Conor Gleeson and Jamie O'Meara played well in the back line. Jake Cullen-Jordan, Cillian Minogue and Tom Delaney battled hard in the middle of the park. Finn and Finan worked hard on the wings. Villa kept heavy pressure on Thomastown and should have scored another but couldn't get past the Thomastown keeper, game ended 3-1 to Thomastown.
