Munster Junior Cup 3rd Round Peake Villa A won 2-1 away to Clonmel Town A
Scorers: Ronan McGuire (1) Alan Leahy (1)
Villa came away from Clonmel with a win after a brilliant display of determination. Too a man, they stood tall to everything that was thrown at them after going down to 10 men late in the 1st half. Villa started the game on the front foot and deservedly went in front from a great volley by Alan Leahy, from a corner that was cleared to edge of area and he duly finished to the net, this was after 15 mins. 10 mins later villa went 2 up when Ronan McGuire scored another fantastic goal on the volley after a knock down from James O’Sullivan. Just on half-time Alan Leahy was very unlucky to see red after a committed tackle from both player's. 2-0 Halt-time to Villa.
Villa had to weather the storm for the second half and the back 5 of Willie Tierney, Mattew Gogarty, Greg Cully, Anto Walker and Tommy Teer were fantastic. They laid their bodies on the line for the cause, they were well assisted by the midfield of Aidan McCormack, Stevie Fewer and Pippy Carroll who were outstanding at keeping the ball. This was a massive help to the front-line of James O’Sullivan and Ronan McGuire who were running themselves into the ground. Clonmel scored with 20 minutes left to leave the Villa support biting their nails for rest of game. Villa were not to be denied a great result that takes them out of the area in the Munster Junior Cup. No man of the match as all the players that took part today were outstanding.

Munster Youth Cup Peake Villa Youths lost 3–5 away to Clonmel Celtic
Scorers: Ronan McGuire (1) Mikey Nally (1) Jack Ryan Casey (1)
Villa started brightly and went 1 up when Ronan McGuire neatly finished a good move on the right wing. Celtic came fighting back and drew level from a corner. They kicked on from equalising scoring 2 more goals from long range strikes. Just before half-time they went 4-1 up. Second half saw Villa have more of the ball but never got out of first gear, creating very little. Celtic then scored to go 5-1 up. Although the Villa lads finished with a flurry with Mikey Nalley penalty and a Jack Ryan Casey goal brought them within 2 of Celtic. But it was too little too late, an afternoon to forget for the lads who just never got going. Full Time 5-3 to Celtic.
TSSDL u16 Premier League Peake Villa u16 lost 2-5 at home to St. Kevin’s
Scorer: Liam McCormack (2)
This was a league game of two halves. Kevin's started the brighter, but Villa contained the early threats comfortably and grew into the game. Midway through the half after getting on top in midfield, Villa went 1-0 Up in the 21st minute when Liam McCormack scored. Villa made it 2-0 through Liam again with a great finish. 2-0 half time.
Villa started brightest in the second half and could have went 3 up when Gavin Shaughnessy got through one-on-one, but the keeper saved. Kevin's grew into the game and punished Villa with 3 goals in a ten-minute spell. They added another 2 before the end to make it 5-2 at full time. The score line did not reflect the Villa's performance who were under strength. Big thanks to Dillion Maher who played the whole game even though he was unwell. Also to all the 15's in the squad that who did not look out of place playing a year up. Man-of-the-match was U15 Liam McCormack with two fine goals.
TSSDL u14 Premier League u14A won 2-1 at home to Clerihan A
Scorers: Ciaran Woodlock (1) Niall Dunne (1)
Peake Villa hosted the inform Clerihan to the Tower Grounds. Villa started the brightest and controlled the game from kick-off, making several good scoring opportunities. The Clerihan keeper was in fine form keeping Villa at bay. The deadlock was broken after 15 minutes when Ciaran Woodlock broke the off-side trap to go 1v1 with the Clerihan keeper and finish coolly. 1-0. Villa continued to control the game but just could not find the second until Niall Dunne stepped up from all of 35yrds out to hit the sweetest of shots into the top corner giving the Clerihan keeper no chance. Halftime 2-0 to Villa.
The second half continued in the same fashion with Villa making chance after chance but only for the Clerihan keeper to be in inspired form and keep the score line down. To Clerihan's credit they never stopped playing football, moving the ball around the back line with great confidence. On a rare attack, a mistake in the Villa back line when a miss-judged back pass gifted Clerihan a goal which made the last 15 minutes an edgy affair. Villa continued to make chances but could not find the goal to kill the game off as the Clerihan keeper was in flying form. Man of the match for Villa on the day Ciaran Woodlock was a consistent torn in the Clerihan defense all day and was very unlucky not to score several goals throughout the game. Final score 2-1 Peake Villa.
A superb team performance by the whole squad to keep their early winning streak going, special mention to new squad member Brandon Mills who slotted in seamlessly and had a great impact from the bench. A very strong hardworking squad, great stuff lads.

Scorer: Michael Ryan Casey (2)
The Peake Villa u14B took on Clonmel Town B with the services of David Purcell from the u13 squad in goals for the team, as cover for Corey O'Brien who was not available. Villa started well and after 25 minutes a ball played from Christian in the middle of the field on to Micheál Ryan Casey gave us lead, 1-0. Five minutes later another ball through the middle to Micheal again got him a second. Half time 2-0 up to Villa.
The second half saw Clonmel pile on the pressure, with Villa conceding a goal early in the half. Villa tried hard to get another score but, conceded a second 10 minutes from the end of the game. Eoin Stakelum and Dylan Nevin were unlucky in the last few minutes. Overall it was an exciting game, final score 2-2, another draw for the squad who gave it everything on the day.
TSSDL u12 Premier League u12A won 3-0 away to Clonmel Town A
Scorers: Finn Jones (1) Tom Delaney (1) Ronan O’Brien (1)
Villa travelled to play Clonmel Town and were aiming to keep their good form in the league on track. On a sticky pitch, against a talented and tough opponent, Villa played some wonderful flowing football. After 9 minutes, great work by Artem Izhko led to a ball been played out to Eamon Groome on the wing, who at the second time of asking, crossed for Finn Jones to produce an exquisite finish first time from a tight angle. This led to continued pressure from Villa, but the chances created were not finished.
The second half produced much the same, with Villa dominating possession and eventually from a corner, Tom Delaney finished first time into the corner. After more pressure and another corner Ronan O'Brien battled for the ball at the back post, turned his man and shot on target with the ball ending in the back of the net after a slight deflection. Villa dominated the rest of the half but couldn't score again. Excellent performance from the whole squad who all played their part.
TSSDL u12 Division 1 League u12B won 2-0 at home to St. Michael’s B
Scorers: Pierce Ivors (1) John Broderick (1)
A well contested game with plenty of chances for both teams. Villa started on the front foot and Pierce Ivors was unlucky with two early chances. Pierce would break the deadlock though on 15 minutes, firing home a breaking ball from a John Broderick corner. Villa had stand in keeper James McBrearty to thank minutes later as he saved two penalties. After this scare Joh...n Kyle and Sean Treacy started to control the game with some good passing. Half-Time 1-0 to Villa.
The second half started with more Villa pressure and Luke Murray was close to getting the second goal. After sustained pressure by the Villa lads, John Broderick scored the second from a pass by James who squared a great ball for him to tap in. St Michael's were unlucky not to score, but Gabriel Huang, Will Cooney and Jack Bergin gave great defensive performance to keep a clean sheet. Very entertaining game from two evenly matched teams.
