TSDL Tipperary Cup Peake Villa 1 - 4 Bansha Celtic
Scorer: Pippy Carroll
Villa decided to have their worst performance of the season in the 1st round of the Tipperary Cup. Bansha got off to the perfect start and were two up after fifteen minutes, after some poor defending on both occasions. Villa got back into it with a goal after thirty minutes from Pippy Carroll. Villa had a great chance to make it 2-2 just before half-time but unfortunately the shot flew over the... bar. Half-time Peake Villa 1-2 Bansha Celtic.
In the second half, Peake Villa pushed forward to get the equaliser but were unable to break through the Bansha defense. Bansha then went 3-1 up after sixty minutes, when a free way outside the box some how found its way to the back of the net. This was a terrible goal to give away when trying to get back into the tie. Bansha then ended Villa's fight with a fourth goal with fifteen minutes left. Full-time Peake Villa 1-4 Bansha Celtic.
It was a bad day at the office for Villa and we were out fought in every department. Best of luck to Bansha Celtic in the next round.

TSSDL Boys u16 Premier League Peake Villa 0-0 Clonmel Town A
Villa entertained league leaders Clonmel Saturday morning. Both teams settled well into the game without creating too much in the first quarter. Clonmel were having most of the play and were showing their experience, but rarely troubled the Villa keeper Stephen Donavan in the first half. Villa themselves didn't create a lot in the first half with Cathal McElgunn and Dillion Maher working hard with what did come their way. 0-0 Half Time.
The second half was pretty even with Clonmel pressing but they never really looked like breaking down a resolute Villa defence of Emmet Fogarty, James Armstrong, Paddy Creedon and Danny Treacy. Our midfield of Henry Fogarty, Jack Kelly, Tony Galvin and Shane Turner got on top mid way through the second half. The best action came in the last 15 minutes when Villa had what looked like a penalty waved away. At the other end James Armstrong cleared what looked like a certain Clonmel goal off the line. Villa could have nicked it right at the end when Dillion Maher found himself unmarked in the area but his shot was straight at the keeper.
A good performance from the boy's. Five of the starting 11 were under 15's and we also had Sean Condron and Lorcan Cummins on the bench and none were out of their depth. Full time 0-0.
TSSDL Boys u14 Premier League Peake Villa u14A 1-1 Gortnahoe A
Scorer: Scott Brennan (1)
Peake Vila U14A hosted Gortnahoe in what was their 3rd game in the last 7days. Villa started the brightest and for the first ten minutes had Gortnahoe pinned in their own half making several half chances to no avail. Gortnahoe grew into the game but were kept to hopefull balls over the top which the Villa defense handled easily. Villa struggled to create to any chances in the final third of the pitch on what... was a very sticky & heavy pitch.
It was Gortnahoe who grabbed the lead after thirty minutes when one of their long balls over the top caught the Villa defense up the pitch and it allowed their pacy striker to run onto it and finish calmly past the advancing keeper Josh. Villa to their credit kept their heads up and continued to play good football forcing a corner within two minutes. The resulting corner was swung in by Scott Brennan and sailed over everyone to go into the far top corner. Halftime 1-1.
The 2nd half started as the first finished with Villa controlling the ball but unfortunately failing to do much damage in the final third. Villa played out the 2nd half with most of the possession in the Gortnahoe half but on the day struggled to create the chance's they needed to take all three points. Final Score 1-1.
Overall a very solid performance from every player, with the strength in depth showing as players came off the bench and slotted in seamlessly. Villa continue their good start to the season with another measured performance, just unlucky to not have the shooting boots on today. Worth mentioning the midfield three who were solid all day and the Villa defense of Josh in Goals, Niall, Alex, Conor & Aidan were outstanding, snuffing out any attack. Man of the match on the day was Aidan Butler who lead the defense all day.

TSSDL Boys 12 Premier League Peake Villa u12A 1-1 Clonmel Celtic A
Scorer: Artem Izhko (1)
In a game between the two unbeaten teams in the league, Celtic started the better, physically dominating Villa and not allowing them to play their normal brand of flowing football. After fifteen minutes a clearance from Villa came back into the box off a ricochet to the Celtic striker who slotted the ball into the bottom corner. Villa went in 1-0 down at half time....
Half time team talk and positional changes made Villa came out a different team playing wide and passing into dangerous areas. After three good scoring chances not taken, a slide pass through the Celtic defence by Eamonn found Artem who calmly slotted past the on rushing keeper. Villa now had the bit between their teeth. Tom was denied by a great save by the Celtic keeper and Cillian just failed to get to a great cross again from Eamonn. Celtic had a great chance at the end of the match but a great save by Fionn and block from the follow up by Ronan kept the game level. Final Score 1-1.
Really proud of the commitment and effort by the team to come back against a very strong Celtic team. Man of Match Ronan for amazing defensive work.
TSSDL Boys u12 Division 1 Peake Villa u12B 1-2 Slievenamon Celtic
Scorer: Pierce Ivors (1)
Villa started the game well and James McBrearty forced a great save from the keeper, but soon after Villa found themselves two nil after two quickfire goals. Villa battled hard throughout and created plenty through Eoin Boyle and John Broderick. But it seemed liked it was one of those days where the ball just wouldn't go in. Pierce Ivors slotted home from one of the many corners with five minutes to go. Villa then piled on plenty of pressure, but the slievenamon keeper pulled off two good saves. Special mention to Ronan O'Dywer and Colm Hickey from the u11s who put in two great performances.
