TSDL Premier League Clonmel Celtic 1-5 Peake Villa Junior A
Scorers: Michael Nally (1) Tommy Teer (1) Mikey Wade (1) Pippy Carroll (1) Sean Butler (1)
Villa travelled to Clonmel Sunday afternoon and came away with all three points playing some good football throughout. Villa started brightly and were comfortable until the 9th minute in what was Celtics first real attack, they were awarded a dubious penalty which they scored. Villa equalised in the 31st minute when they were awarded a free-kick outside the box which Pippy Carroll struck, and his shot hit a defender and fell to the foot of Mikey, who made no mistake finding the bottom corner. Villa were well in control now and went 2-1 ahead in the 38th minute when Mikey Wade's cross found Tommy Teer at the far post and he made no mistake. 2-1 Half Time.
In the second half Villa went 3-1 ahead in the 51st minute when good work from Pippy found Mikey Wade at the back post and from the tightest of angles he scored. Pippy scored a deserved goal from close range in the 72nd minute to make it 4-1. Sean Butler scored Villa's 5th with a great finish in the 82nd minute.
A great team and squad performance by the boy's today.
TSDL Tipperary Cup 1st Round Peake Villa B 2 - 1 Clonmel Town B
Scorers: Clonmel (og) Kieran Hennessy (1)
Villa entertained a very strong Clonmel Town team this morning, with Villa making a number of changes from the last game, but still a very strong team took to the field. Villa played some nice football from the start and had a couple of half chances through Damo Grimes and Andrew Halloran. Clonmel came more into the game and the midfield battle was tough but fair, although a few Villa players saw yellow from the referee. Mark Lennon was putting in some great crosses from the left wing and corners but Villa failed to get on the end of them. After some good play from Andrew Halloran and Mark Lennon, a Clonmel player under a lot of pressure, put the ball in the back of his own net. Half-time Villa 1-0.
The second half began the same as the first, with a lot of challenges flying in from both sides and the referee flashed the yellow card to players from both sides. Clonmel began to dominate in the air and this led to sustained possession and despite a number of excellent saves from Shane McGuire in the home goal, Clonmel equalised when a cross went all the way to the net, 1-1. Villa made a couple of changes to freshen things up in defence and midfield and began to come more back into the game with more chances by Andrew Halloran and Damo Grimes failing to find the net. Grimes, Hennessy and sub Darragh Byrne began to stretch the Clonmel defence as they began to tire a little and a great ball over the top led to Kieran Hennessey, muscling his way past the defender and lifting it over the keeper to put villa 2-1 up with just 3 minutes left. A couple of rash challenges led to Clonmel frees in and around the box, but Darren Connor and Kevin Quinn dealt with these in the air and Shane McGuire was commanding in his own box.
Villa saw out the rest of the game to earn a fantastic win and move into the next round of the Tipperary Cup. Best players on the day were Shane McGuire, Davie Mahony, Kieran Hennessy and man of the match, Mark Lennon.

TSSDL u12 Premier u12A drew 2-2 v St. Michael's A
Scorer: Eamon Groome (2)
Villa travelled to St Michael's to play a team who have improved massively this season. On a wet sticky pitch Michael's dominated the first half and went ahead from a deflected clearance which fell to the striker, who calmly finished into the corner from 10 yards. A second was conceded, which came from a break down the Villa left side, with player's out of position and not concent...rating, the cross came in and the Michael's forward again slotted home. 2-0 St. Michael's at half-time.
Villa regrouped at half-time with Ronan showing great leadership and the coaches encouraging the squad to commence a fight back. A different Villa team came out fighting for the second half and they were scraping at everything to get something out of the game. After sustained pressure Villa scored through a great finish by Eamon Groome. Villa continued to press and another smart finish by Eamon made it 2-2 with 2 minutes left. Villa had a chance to win in the last minute but the St. Michael's keeper saved the shot.
Great come back by Villa and well played St Michael's especially their striker who caused problems all game for the Villa defence. MoM for Villa was Eamon Groome with 2 great finishes.
TSSDL u12 Division 1 u12B lost 1-0 v Donohill
Peake Villa came up against an in-form Donohill, who have won 3 on the bounce. The first half was an open affair, with both keepers pulling off good saves to keep it at nil all....
Donohill took the lead after some pin-ball in the box with 10 minutes to go. Villa pushed hard to get an equaliser but to know avail. Donohill nearly doubled their lead but a super Jack Bowe penalty save, kept it at one nil. Unfortunately the away days blue remain, MoTM was Jack Bergin who gave a superb performance at centre half.
