Peake Villa travelled today to Wexford Town to play North End in the SFAI Regional Cup Semi-Final. The old adage of taking your chances created was never truer as both sides created chances, but North End scored from theirs. In the first minute following a great through ball from Tony Galvin to Alex Garcia Diaz who placed a lovely pass to Darragh Stakelum who hit a lovely left footed shot that ricochet off the cross-bar with the keeper well beaten. A few minutes later Darragh combined with Liam to place a lovely cross ball across the square that the in rushing Cathal McElgunn narrowly missing. Villa’s back four of Gavin Shaughnessy, Shane Turner, Emmet Fogarty and Sean Condron were very tight at the back and limited North End chances on goal. Half-Time 0-0.
The second half started with Villa pressing for the early goal but were caught on the break when North Ends speedy no 10 broke down the right and placed a great cross that Emmet narrowly missed clearing, the ball fell to the North End striker to score from inside the 6 yard box. 1-0 to North End. TSSDL Boys u14 Premier Clerihan A v Peake Villa u14A
Scorers: Siya Ndzingani (1) Brandon Mills (1)
Peake Villa travelled to Clerihan hoping to continue their impressive run in the League with 4 players missing from the squad due to injury and family events. Villa started with a brisk breeze on their backs and had most of the early pressure which resulted in them scoring within 3mins of the start from a well worked goal played in from the left by Ciaran Woodlock which found Siya Ndzingani who scored from close range with a very brave header. From the re-start villa kept the pressure up and saw chance after chance go by without getting that valuable 2nd goal. Clerihan to their credit never gave up and had a few half chances of their own but from some great defending and goalkeeping by the villa back line. From one of these attacks Villa scored probably the goal of the season which was started by Josh in goals who gave a quick ball out to Niall Dunne who broke quickly and played the ball to Ciaran Woodlock who played it inside for Josh Connolly who did a lovely 1-2 with Scott Brennan (Both showing great quick feet) who then played in Brandon Mills who took one touch and unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box to the right side of the goals to make it 2-0 Villa. Half-time 2-0 to Villa.
Villa playing against the wind in the 2nd half never looked in trouble, making attack after attack and were unlucky not to be winning by more. A few chances fell to Scott, Ciaran, Siya, Corey and Brandon but only for some last ditch defending by Clerihan this game would have been over allot sooner. Villa rotated in and out the two subs as normal and each player on the field played excellently as always, despite several of them having played matches earlier in the day. Another super result for this great bunch of lads. Man of the Match on the day was Brandon Mills who was outstanding. This was another excellent team performance with every player working and fighting for each other. It was great to see so much travelling support for these boys and our thanks to the u15 squad who dropped in on their way back from Wexford to cheer them on. Fantastic club spirit.
TSSDL Boys u12 Premier Clonmel Celtic 1-1 Peake Villa u12A
Scorers: Ronan O’Brien (1)
In a match between the leagues 2 unbeaten teams Villa started brightly and maintained possession and territory throughout the 1st half creating a few chances which were snuffed out by good defending. Celtic seemed happy to use their size to disrupt Villa's game and the half finished 0-0. Villa came out again at the start of the 2nd half and played attractive flowing football creating two cha chances before a corner was won. The delivery from Eamonn was perfect and captain Ronan O'Brien headed in at the back post. 1-0 to Villa. Villa continued to dominate play and nearly scored again from a Tom Delaney free kick which cannoned back off the bar. Villa kept up the pressure creating another two scoring chances. Celtic attack were being dealt with by Villa's defence but from a corner in the 52nd minute Celtic scored from a scramble which was not cleared. Villa came back fighting and created more chances which were not taken. Full Time 1-1. Villa can be proud of their performance today and showed what a good team they are. Still unbeaten in the league means Celtic have to win all their games to keep up with the team. Brilliant performance from Ronan keeping Clonmel Celtic's goal striker Shane quiet all day. Well done to Tom and Artem for their drive and midfield play.
TSSDL Boys u14 Championship Peake Villa u14B 1-4 Shanbally United
Scorer: Paul Cummins (1)
On a windy morning at the Tower Grounds Villa B entertained top of the table Shanbally United in a hard fought game. Shanbally won the toss and elected to play with the strong breeze which they used to their advantage and led at half time 3-0 with the help of 2 wind assisted goals. Villa fought hard in the second half and took the game to the visitors and pinned them back in their own half for long spells. An excellent free kick by Shanbally extended their lead but to Villa's credit they kept going and got the goal they rightly deserved through a strike by Paul Cummins. Full-Time 1-4. Full credit goes to the whole team for never letting their heads drop and thanks to the u13a players for their massive contribution today too. The fight that was shown will stand them in good stead for the remaining games. Best of luck to Shanbally in the remaining games to try and win the league.

Slievenamon came out on top of a well contested game. Slievenamon scored the only goal late in the first half. The boys battled hard in the second half, Eoin Boyle and John Broderick had good efforts well saved. The u14A squad went to Bansha tonight trying to keep their great league run going. For the second half it was more of the same, the boys had attack after attack with great moves by Brandon Mills, Ciaran Woodlock, Corry Moore, Sean Gleason and some good work by Siya Ndzingani holding the ball up. Bansha had a few half chances but these were snuffed out quickly by the defensive hard work of Darragh Minogue and Alex Moloney. The boys kept the pressure up and scored their second goal of the game with 10 minutes remaining. The goal coming through Sean Gleason after another great move. Bansha never gave up and won themselves a free kick with five minutes to go, which was hit perfect and heading for the top corner only for Josh Cody to pull off what is surely the save of the season. Full Time 0-2 Villa. The boys put in a great effort tonight in tough conditions on a wet sticky pitch but got the result they were looking for to keep their league run going. There was no man of the match on the day as this was a super team effort to grind out a great result.
