TSDL Division 2 League Donohill and District 0 - 7 Junior B
Scorers: Kevin Croke (1) Kieran Hennessy (3) Eoin Dwyer (3)
Villa travelled to Donohill today for final Division 2 League game of season and totally dominated the hosts from start to finish. From the start Villa had all the possession and had numerous chances to take the lead through efforts from Eoin Dwyer and Davy Bourke, but their efforts failed to find the net. Villa totally controlled midfield through Stevie fewer and Davy Mahony, creating a host of chances which resulted in a corner from Mark Lennon that was headed into the net by Kevin Croke, 1-0 Villa. Villa continued to have chances and Darren Connor after running from his own box found himself in on goal, but he somehow kicked it straight at the hosts keeper. From a Davy Bourke effort on goal the keeper spilled it to the feet of Kieran Hennessy who dispatched to the net to put Villa 2-0 up at half time.
In the second half Villa continued to dominate and quick-fire goals from Kieran Hennessy and Eoin Dwyer put villa 4-0 up after good work from Darragh Byrne and Davy Mahony. Shane McGuire was a spectator in Villa's goal with the rare attack from the hosts been dealt with by the back line easily. Kieran Hennessy completed his hat trick soon after with a good header and Eoin Dwyer scored 2 more goals to complete his hat trick on the day. Villa had a host of chances to add to the score after that as the hosts had no answer to Villa's passing and running at their defence. Full-time 7-0 to Villa.
This was a great team performance from all resulting in a 7-0 victory. All the squad were excellent on the day and Villa move forward to next week’s cup semi-final in high spirits.
TSSDL Boys u16 Tipperary Cup Peake Villa 0-0 St. Kevin's
AET Peake Villa 0-0 St. Kevin's
Penalties Peake Villa 2-4 St. Kevin's
Our U16's played St. Kevin's on Sunday evening up at the Tower Grounds in front of a good crowd. The conditions were perfect for the game. This was a typical derby cup game with both sides up for the task at hand. Chances were limited throughout the first half with both defences on top and both keepers in fine form. Villa's goalie Stephen Donovan was the busiest in the first half making a couple of fine saves.
The second was much the same with not many clear-cut chances but Villa came close to getting behind the Kevin's defence on a few occasions with Liam McCormack coming close and nearly getting on the end of some good ball from midfield. The game went to extra time but alas the sides could not be split. Penalties decided this Cup game and it was St. Kevin's who came out on top in the penalties on a score line of 4-2.
This ends our u16's season, a season that was very stop start and that really never got going because of the weather. Liam and Paul would like to thank the u16's for their commitment this season and wish them well as they move into Youth Football.
A special thanks to the U15's, we had 8 in the squad today and most of our u15's played a part in the u16 national cup and league games throughout the season, none of them looked out of place when playing a year up. The whole team played well today with really fine performances from Stephen Donovan, James Armstrong, Tony Galvin, Shane Turner and Danny Treacy to name a few.
TSSDL Girls u16 Championship League St. Kevin’s v Peake Villa – Match abandoned – player injured
A special thanks to St Kevin’s club, to their coaches and the referee who responded quickly in their assistance to ensure the safety of our player in the u16s girl's match Sunday morning.

TSDL Premier League Junior A 0-2 St. Michael's A
Villa finished their season with a defeat to the league champions elect. Villa started well and went close through Kieran Hennessy after a Pippy Carroll free kick. For most of the first half Villa were matching Michaels in all departments and were unlucky not to go one up when James O'Sullivan shot on goals only for the shot to be saved by the Michael's keeper. 10 minutes before the break Colin Bargray unleashed a super strike from 35 yards which gave stand in keeper Stephan Ryan no chance. Halftime 1-0 to St. Michael's.
Villa piled on the pressure in the 2nd half but found Adrian Walsh in the Michaels goal in top form, saving strikes from Kieran Hennessy, Mikey Wade and Tommy Teer. Alas the sucker punch came with 5 minutes left when Rodrigo Congalves poked home from close range after a Villa mistake. Credit to Villa they stayed trying to get back into it till the final whistle.
So Villa's season ends with a defeat to a St. Michael's team with vast experience of how to get over the line in tight games. Villa's improvement is there for all to see with a fantastic bunch of local players that are on a mission to be up there with the Michael's of this world. Villa only lost 2 games all season in the league both to today's opponents. The Peake Villa committee would like to thank the management team of James O'Sullivan, Jody Brolan and Martin Turner for their tremendous commitment to the cause since last July when the preseason started. We also thank Leanne Fogarty our physio who has been a valuable asset to the club. It can't go without saying Villa have lost two fantastic centre forwards in Mathew McKevitt and Ronan McGuire to higher levels of football during the season. We lost Gary Lyons to knee injuries which made him hang the boots up early in the season, all the big loses to the squad.
The club will now shout on the Junior B team that are in with a great shout of league and cup double.

TSSDL u14 Boys Premier League Peake Villa u14A 1-1 Clonmel Town A
Scorer: Brandon Mills (1)
Peake Villa U14A's hosted 2nd placed Clonmel Town tonight, trying to keep their great league run going. With a strong breeze on our back Villa started the strongest and were 1-0 up after 6 mins when a poor clearance by the Town keeper was controlled by Brandon Mills, who took a couple of touches and lobbed the keeper from all of 35yrds. Josh Coady in the Villa goals was called upon to make a great save in a one-v-one. The back four for Villa did a great job of limiting Clonmel's chances for scoring. Villa had the best of the chances before half time with Ciaran Woodlock, Corey Moore, Niall Dunne and Brandon all going close to getting Villas 2nd goal but unfortunately failed to convert. Half-time 1-0 to Villa.
The second half was a different affair with Clonmel coming out strong with the breeze on their backs and Villa found it very difficult to get out of their own half. While Clonmel had plenty of possession they never looked like scoring with the Villa defence playing solidly all night. They were forced to take some long-range shots which were dealt with by Josh Coady in the goals who was in fine form. Even with the ball moving everywhere in the strong breeze Josh always looked in control. Villa started to get a grip again in the game and started to advance up the pitch but were finding it very difficult in the breeze. Clonmel forced a corner and when Villa failed to clear their lines the ball snuck in at the near post to make it 1-1. While Town tried to push for the winner it was Villa who had the best chances to win the game with Ciaran and Brandon coming closest to taking all 3pts. Final score 1-1.
This is another great result for Villa, but they will feel they should have taken their chances and all 3pts on the night. Joint man of the match on the night was Josh Cody and Brandon Mills, but it was very tough to pick as the whole team fought for every ball and gave everything.
