Half-time 2-0 to Villa.
In the second half Suirside came more into the game for a while but again the Villa defence stood strong, in particular Cormac Lanigan and Darren Connor who made sure that Shane McGuire in goal had little work to do. In the 55th minute Villa made it 3-0 when after a Villa corner the ball fell to Matthew Fogarty, who caught the ball superbly on the half volley to put game beyond the visitors. In the 63rd minute Cormac Lanigan took a free out on left side of the visitors box and his free with the help of the swirling wind found its way to the net, to put villa 4-0 to the good. Villa had numerous chances to add more to the scoresheet but missed great chances through Adam Garrett, Tommy Brophy, Kevin Patan and Tom Shorley but all failed to hit the visitors net. In the last few minutes Suirside were awarded a penalty but despite Shane McGuire pulling off a super save, the follow up was dispatched to the Villa net to leave the final score 4-1 to Villa.
A gutsy performance on a horrible day for football from Villa, who now advance to the Paddy Purtil Cup Final, to face the winners between Glengoole and St Michaels B. Best on the day for Villa were Cormac Lanigan, Darren Connor, Stevie Fewer and Kevin Patan.
