Saturday 19th October
TSDL Youths Division 1 League - Clonmel Town 4-3 Peake Villa Youths
Scorer: Danny Treacy (1) Josh Connolly (1) Jack Kelly (1)
Our Youths travelled to Clonmel Saturday for this league fixture. This was a highly entertaining game and the young Villa youth side should be proud of their performance and definitely did not deserve to come out on the losing side. Villa took the lead in the 1st minute when Jack Kelly put Danny Treacy through and his shot went under the keeper to make it 1-0. Clonmel grew into the game and were guilty of a missing a few chances. Villa capitalised on this with a well taken second goal after some good link up play. Jack Kelly played it to Siya Ndzinagini who played it in front of the on running Josh Connolly, who made no mistake to make it 2-0 before the break.
In the second half Clonmel grew into the game and Villa had to sustain a lot of pressure. Clonmel scored mid way through the half and added a 2nd a minute later to make it 2-2. With 10 minutes to go Clonmel got a third to go 3-2 up. Villa didn't give up and Danny Treacy made a great run into the box and was taking down for a penalty. Jack Kelly scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-3. Right at the death Clonmel got a winner which was cruel on this young Villa side who didn't deserve to loose the game. Full Time 4-3.
