TSSDL Girls u16 League
Peake Villa u16 Girls 0-2 Killenaule Moyglass

The Villa girls played their last game off the season at home to Killenaule Moyglass. The girls started brightly with Chloe Shorley and Chloe Cummins both coming close to scoring, but the Killenaule keeper made some great saves. The back four of Jessica Delaney, Robyn Fanning, Emer Fogarty and Niamh Shanahan were very tight in defence and restricted Killenaule to shots from distance which were handled very well by Emma Leahy in the Villa goals. The mid-field four of Zoe Doherty, Chloe Byrne, Chloe Shorley and Lucy Purcell were combining well and providing a good supply of ball to the front pair of Chloe Cummins and Eve Dardis. Twenty minutes in Villa were dealt a blow when Lucy had to go off injured, with no substitutes available this meant that Villa had to play the rest of the game with 10 v 11. Both sides created chances but Killenaule with their numerical advantage were beginning to pile on the pressure but found a Villa keeper in fantastic form, as Emma pulled off save after save to keep the score line 0-0 at half-time.

The second half started where the first left off, with Emma again pulling off some great saves. Robyn Fanning was having a great game in central defence and she played a great ball to Chloe Cummins who rounded her marker and played a lovely through ball to Chloe Shorley who bore down on goal only to see her shot go narrowly wide of the left side post. Killenaule responded and finally broke the deadlock with a well worked move down the right side, followed by a great cross-in to a on-rushing Killenaule striker to score. The girls tried hard but were unable to break down the Killenaul defence and eventually Killenaule scored their second to wrap up the game for the 2-0 win.
