Shanbally United 4 - 7 Peake Villa Boys u15
Scorers: Tom Daly (2) Leelan Donoghue (3) Ben Moore (2)
Travelling away the lads started well and were unlucky with a few offside calls going against them. However Ben Moore opened the scoring after 12 minutes with an assist from Leelan Donoghue. Leelan was provider again for Tom Daly after 27 minutes to put PV 2-0 up. Shanbally pulled one back from a corner shortly after before Leelan scored his first of three assisted by Tom. Half time 1-3 to the visitors.
A few minutes after half time Leelan added his second, before Tom scored his second. Almost immediately Leelan scored again from a through ball from Kristers to complete his hat-trick. Villa continued to work hard when Ben scored his second and Villa's seventh from a Ciaran Murphy free kick. A lapse in concentration left Shanbally score three goals in quick succession with the earlier efforts of the Villa players catching up with them. Super performance from all the Villa lads and a well deserved victory in our first league game. Final score Shanbally 4-7 Peake Villa.

u12 Girls Premier League
Peake Villa Girls u12A 1-3 Tipperary Town A
Scorer: Sarah Genockey (1)
Peake Villa Girls U12A played their first Premiership game of the 2022 season at home, hosting Tipperary Town. It was a nervous start and it took a while for the girls to settle in. Tipperary Town girls put pressure on the Villa backs but some great defending kept them from scoring. From a quick kickoff midway through the half, Sarah Genockey took the ball on half way and got past the Tipperary defence going to whole way and scoring her first goal of the season. It was evenly balanced for the rest of the half but just before the 1/2 time break, the Tipperary girls scored a great goal from 30 yards out.
In the second half the Tipperary Town girls got off to a better start and 10 minutes in scored their 2nd and a few minutes later their 3rd. The Villa girls didn't give up, they settled down and tried their best to get back into the game right to the end, but the game ended 3-1 to Tipperary Town. It was a great atmosphere and a very enjoyable game from both teams on the day.
