Junior Tipperary Cup Tipperary Town 1 - 4 Peake Villa (A)
Conditions were not ideal for this cup tie with a strong wind blowing both teams couldn’t play their passing game. It was Villa who had the wind in the 1st half and they took the lead on 17 minutes when Pippy Carroll headed them ahead. It stayed this way for the rest of the half and Villa went in leading 1-0 at the break. Villa seemed to play better against the wind and went 2-0 up when a Jamie Morrisey free kick was toe poked in by Kevin Croke. The home team got 1 back a few minutes later to make the score with a half an hour to play 2-1. Villa added a third when John Mcgloughlin found Eoin Dwyer from a free kick only for Eoin to volley the ball to the back of the net, an early goal of the season contender. Villa put the game to bed with 5 minutes left when Sub Tom Rykala scored with a trade mark heather to make it 4-1 at the final whistle. All in all a good squad effort to put them into the next round of the cup.
The Club wishes Noel Kent a speedy recovery from his bad injury. The Club are starting another last man standing which will begin on November 1st.
U12 Girls League Kilenaule 4 - 1 Peake Villa
Our u12's are mostly new players to soccer and are slowly finding their feet. The girls played a very good Killenaule side who kept the Villa Girls under pressure for most of the match. The score would have been greater only for the fine display by Katie Gleeson in goals, who pulled off some great saves in the first half. Queva O'Meara scored the goal for Villa after some great passing play by Anna Derby and Chloe Cummins. Great effort girls.

Fai Youths Cup Ballymackey 0 - 5 Peake Villa
Villa booked their place in the next round of the Fai cup with a good win away to North Tipp side Ballymackey. The boys were in control from the start and playing some nice football throughout. Keith Cahill scored twice in the first half and Dale Loughnane added another before the break to make it 3-0 at half time. To be fair to Ballymackey their task was not helped by having to play a National Cup U16 match in the morning which 5 of their players were involved in and Villa closed the game out adding another 2 through Substitute Matthew McKevitt in the 2nd half. The Villa keeper did save a penalty his third penalty save in three games.
U16 League Peake Villa 4 - 1 Cahir Park
Villa we’re out for revenge in this game after narrowly losing to Cahir in the National Cup 2 weeks ago. Villa were in control of the game from the start with 70% of the possession but as we see in these situations the team in control can get caught on the break which happened in this case, Cahir going in 1-0 up at the break. Villa started the 2nd half well and got back level after 10 minutes when Patryk Wizzy. Only minutes later they added a 2nd when their Spanish forward Benat scored. Villa made it 3-1 when Tommy McGuire scored. Villa we’re well on top at this stage and they sealed a Good win when Frank McKevitt’s shot from just inside the Cahir half sailed into the top corner. Overall an excellent team performance from Villa, all the work in training is starting to pay off.
U14 League Clonmel Town 1 - 0 Peake Villa
Clonmel had the wind at their backs in the 1st half and they took the lead in the 3rd minute catching the Villa defence cold. There were no real chances in the 1st half and the home team went in at the break 1 up. Villa were the better team in the 2nd half but could not score, Kieran Costello coming closest with 10 minutes to go but his shot just went over. To be fair both teams never really got going in this game and it finished with the home team winning 1-0 when a draw would have been the fairest result.
U12 National Cup Thomastown 2 -2 Peake Villa (AET Thomastown win 5-3 on Penalties)
Villa got out of the blocks quick in this cup tie when Daniel Ruddy came close in the 1st half but that was as good as it got for Villa and Thomastown were dominant throughout the rest of the half but they could not turn it into goals with the Villa defence playing well.
The 2nd half saw the game open up and it wasn’t long when the 1st goal came and it came to the home side when a hopeful ball was kicked over the top only to deceive the Villa keeper who was blinded by the sun and in it went. Villa didn’t drop the heads and instead took the game to the home side and got level when super sub Shane Turner scored with his first touch after coming on. Villa then got a free kick from outside the box and up stepped Liam McCormack who beat the wall and the keeper to put Villa 2-1 up. Thomastown levelled it up with 5 minutes to go to make it 2-2. Villa we’re denied a certain penalty with a minute to go but it was not given. The teams could not be separated in extra time and the dreaded penalties did not go Villa’s way. The Coaches we’re very proud of the way the team played in what was their 1st competitive game on a full size pitch.
