u15 Boys Peake Villa 1 - 6 Clonmel Town A
Villa took on a strong Clonmel side on Saturday morning, the boys were under strength with players missing through hurling. Clonmel were 3-0 up at half time and had the points secured. Villa came out in the second half and started well when William Creedon scored but Clonmel scored another 3 before the end to have a convincing win.
u13 Boys Clonmel Town A 2 - 1 Peake Villa
Our 13’s travelled to Clonmel Saturday morning and were very unlucky not to get at least a share of the points. Clonmel took the lead against the run of play 15 minutes in. Villa had a great chance to equalize when Jack Kelly hit the side netting, man of the match Liam Kenny had a great game at center half and put Kieran Costello through twice before the break but the angle was too tight for Kieran to score. Villa had most of the play in the first 10 minutes of the second half but could not make the pressure count, Clonmel made it 2-0 with 15 minutes to go after a goal mouth scramble. Villa finally broke through the Clonmel back line when Kieran Costello got on the end of a great pass by Oan Purcell to make it 2-1. It was all Villa now and Kevin Patan took a great shot from the edge of the box which hit the inside of the post only for the ball to go across the goal line and be cleared by a clonmel defender. Kieran Costello lay off a great pass to Oan Purcell who got through on Goal only to be denied by an offside decision. Stephen Donnovan had a great game in goal for Villa and made some good saves.
Sunday 22nd September
Peake Villa Girls were centre stage again with the U10’s and U14’s making their debuts away to Killenaule at the weekend.
u10 Girls Killenaule 3 - 3 Peake Villa
Peake Villa U10 Girls made their League Debut Sunday morning away to Killenaule in glorious sunshine. Villa went 1 down in the 5th minute only for Maria Ralph to pull Villa Level in the 12th. It was end to end stuff for much of the first half and Killenaule regained the lead to make it 2-1 at half time. Villa came out strong in the 2nd half and got level 5 minutes in when Emma Kelly made it 2-2. Villa had a lot of possession after this and they took the lead with 5 minutes to go when Jessica Delaney made it 3-2. Killenaule pushed hard after this and got the equalizer with 2 minutes left. A draw was the fair result and the girls from both teams deserve great credit for all the effort they put in.
