U11A Boys at home Peake Villa 1 - 0 Clerihan
The U11B played Cahir Park B on the Peake Villa astro pitch, this was a well contested game with the U11B squad players showing great improvement on their opening game of the series. Gavin O’Shaughnessy gave a man of the match performance in goal as he demonstrated his goalkeeping skills. The difference between the two teams was their ability to take their goal scoring chances, Cahir Park took their chances scoring 5 goals to Villa’s only goal scored in the second half by Eoin Cosgrave. Final Score Peake Villa 1 – 5 Cahir Park.

This match was an evenly contested game with both sides doing their best to play passing football. The deadlock was broken after 10 minutes when Niall Dunne latched on to a great pass from Keelan Graham and slotted the ball home with a left footed shot into the goals. Soon after Lorcan Cummins made a great save from a corner and cleared his lines to keep Clerihan scoreless. Both teams continued to play good football and as both teams were evenly matched the game was non stop from one end to the other. Darragh Stakelum, Ciaran Woodlock and Shane Turner all had shots on target that were well saved by the Clerihan net minder. In defence Danny Treacy, Sean Condron, Niall Dunne and Cathal McElgunn were rock solid with Jock Fogarty, Liam McCormack played very well in mid field. Final Score Peake Villa 1 – 0 Clerihan
U13 Boys League away Clerihan 0 - 3 Peake Villa
Our 13’s travelled to Clerihan and came away with the points. Villa went one up in the 15th minute after a good cross from Blaine Carroll found Cian Stakelum who calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net. They went 2-0 up in the 25th minute when Eoin Purcell found the net. They went 3-0 up just before the break when Blaine Carroll scored. The 2nd half was a quite enough affair which saw Villa close out the game and limited Clerihan to very few chances, it was a good team performance. Best for Villa on the day were James Armstrong, Jordan Fahy and Blaine Carroll.
U15 Boys League away Cashel Town 4 - 2 Peake Villa
Our 15’s travelled to Cashel and were unlucky not to come away with something. Villa went 1 down after 10 minutes, Villa levelled up the game just before half time when Eoin Ryan scored from a great free kick. Villa went 2-1 down just after half time and again levelled up in the 40th minute through Jack Hackett. The boys hit the cross bar and the post and had two chances cleared off the line before conceding 2 goals near the end. Best for Villa were William Creedon, Eoin Ryan and Connor Murphy.
FAI Youth Cup at home Peake Villa 7 - 2 Clonmel Town
Our Youths progressed to the next round of the FAI Youth Cup after a great win up at the Tower grounds. Villa started well and took the lead after 2 minutes when Dale Lougnane hit the net, Villa made it 2-0 after 5 minutes when Maris Baltins crossed for Antony Walker to score. Willie Tierney made a good save in the 7th minute to deny Clonmel. Adam Garett put Villa 3-0 up after 20 minutes when he chased down a hopeless ball only for the keeper to kick it off him and the ball then ended up in the Clonmel net. Clonmel pulled one back in the 27th minute before Billy Mc Carthy made it 4-1 in the 34th. Maris Baltins gave Villa a 5-1 lead at the break when he made a run down the line and took a cross/shot which ended up in the top corner.
Villa started well in the 2nd half as well but Willie Tierney had to make two important saves in the 50th and 59th minute to keep Clonmel out before Villa went 6-1 up in the 60th minute from the penalty spot after a Clonmel player got sent off for a deliberate hand ball in the box, Sean Butler calmly put the spot kick away. Clonmel pulled another one back in the 63rd minute before Billy Mc Carthy got Villa’s 7th in the 75th minute. It was a fine team performance by all the boys and sweet revenge for the league game earlier in the season when Villa lost to Clonmel but were missing 7 players on the day. Best for villa were Willie Tierney, Dale Loughnane and Billy Mc Carthy.
Sunday 20th October
U10 Girls away Clerihan 4 - 0 Peake Villa
Our U10’s travelled to Clerihan and played against a strong wind in the 1st half which saw backs to the wall and the girls concede 3 before half time. The girls had the wind in the 2nd half and had a nice few chances but could’nt break down the Clerihan defence. Clerihan added another before the end to make it 4-0. The girls gave it everything and there were fine performances from our Goalie Katie Gleeson and Emma Kelly, Jessica Delaney and Niamh Shanahan.
U14 Girls away Kilbehenny 2 - 8 Peake Villa
The U14 girl’s squad travelled to outside Mitchelstown to play Kilbehenny this morning. The condition of the pitch played a big part in the type of football played during this game with both sides finding it hard to play on a very wet and long grass pitch. Villa took the game to Kilbehenny from the start and had a number of chances to score which were well saved by the Kilbehenny keeper. In the 10th minute after an exchange of passes between Lauren McCormack and Ciara Maher, Lauren scored the first. Villa continued to pile on the pressure and Lauren went on to get her hat-trick before half time. Kilbehenny broke up field and Saoirse made a great save only for the rebound to fall to a Kilbehenny player who scored from inside the box. Villa reacted quickly to conceding a goal with Saoirse O’Meara running on to a great pass from Marie Creedon and scoring just before half time. Half Time Peake Villa 4 – 1 Kilbehenny. Villa continued to play the second half in the same manner as they played the first, with Lauren scoring another two and Aoife Teer scoring two as well. Kilbehenny scored another goal a few minutes before the end of the game. Final Score Peake Villa 8 – 2 Kilbehenny.
Tipperary Cup Junior A at home Peake Villa 6 - 2 Vee Rovers
Villa got off to a flyer in this tie when Ted O Connor scored from a Pippy Carroll pass in the 2nd minute. Vee Rovers equalised in the 5th minute when Cormac Crowe lobbed the Villa keeper. Noel Kent put Villa back in the lead in the 25th minute and Kent put Villa 3-1 up in the 40th after a good pass from Jody Mahoney. Vee made it 3-2 on the stroke of half time when Kevin Murray’s shot from outside the box found the top corner. Villa’s fitness came to the fore in the second half and goals from Ted O Connor, Noel Kent and Michael Butler saw Villa through to the next round.
Tipperary Cup Junior B away Ballyneale 2 - 0 Peake Villa
Our second team travelled to Ballyneale which was always going to be a tricky Cup tie. The Boys put in a good performance against a well organised home team.
