U12 Boys away to Clerihan 2 - 4 Peake Villa
U16 Boys away to Clonmel Celtic 2 - 5 Peake Villa
The U16’s travelled for the 4th week in succession to take on Clonmel Celtic at the Fairgrounds in Clonmel. Both teams had served up two very good matches at u15 level last year so expectations were high that this would be a keenly contested match. Peake Villa started the brightest and was making all the chances in the first 10 minutes. The pressure was rewarded when Mark Purcell beat the defender on the right and crossed back across goal which was met on the volley by Matthew McKevitt. The keeper made a great reflex block but was unable to keep the ball from spinning over his head into the net. Villa continued to play passing football as they were playing into a very strong wind and Jack Hackett on 20 minutes placed a lovely through ball onto the path of the in running Connor Murphy who calmly placed the ball the left side of the keeper for Villa’s second goal. Clonmel Celtic were denied a goal by a great reflex save by Endijs Mickelson and from the clearance Villa broke down field with Connor Murphy taking the ball through the middle and giving a great through pass to Matthew McKevitt to score his 2nd and Villa’s third. Clonmel Celtic continued to try and break down the Villa defense and were rewarded with a goal 2 minutes from half-time.
With the wind at their backs for the 2nd half Villa had hoped to take better advantage but the rain started just as the half started and continued to fall right through to the end of the match. On the 15th minute a Matthew McKevitt corner was met by a timely jump by Connor Murphy who scored his 2nd with a great header. Clonmel started to play better football in the 2nd half and continued to give the Villa defense a run for their money. On 25 minutes Clonmel Celtic caught Villa on the break and scored with a low shot to the left corner that the Villa keeper managed to get his hands to but was unable to save. Villa continued to press forward and man of the match Sean Cahill set Colm Pearson on his way for Colm to race down the left side and shoot a low shot into the left corner that hit the post and Clonmel keeper before hitting the back of the net. This was a tough match, in windy and wet conditions against a Clonmel Celtic side that give its all. FT Peake Villa 5 – 2 Clonmel Celtic.

Our A team made the short journey to Glengoole on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon. Glengoole opened the scoring in the 10th minute when they scored from a deflected shot. Villa had a few chances before the half with a strong wind behind them but could not open a sound Glengoole defence. Villa had most of the play in the 2nd half but Glengoole defended superbly. Villa we’re nearly caught on the counter attack with 5 minutes to go when Glengoole hit the post.
Junior B Two Mile Borris 1 - 2 Peake Villa 2
Our B team travelled to their local rivals in what was a good lively derby game. There were no goals in the 1st half despite two good efforts from Villa's Ger OGrady and David Fitzgerald whose shots were well saved by the Borris keeper, David Bourke had a good chance for Borris who came close to scoring from distance. Second half Villa started bright but were caught on the counter in the 55th minute and conceded a penalty which was well taken by Thomas Quigley. The response from Villa was strong and a great pass from Redser O Grady in the 60th minute found David McGuire who scored to make it 1-1. Villa made it 2-1 in the 75th minute after a corner kick from Sam Martin and brave header from Liamy Mackey found the left foot of Kevin Quinn who blasted to the net. Two Mile Borris had two good chances in the last 10 minutes but Villa held out for the win.
