U12 Boys League away St. Kevin's 2 - 2 Peake Villa
Our 12’s made the short trip to Two Mile Borris in the league, it was end to end from the start and a draw was the fair result. St. Kevin's started the better and found themselves 1-0 up after an error in the Villa defence. This gave them belief and they were 2 up after 20 minutes. Villa woke up after this and started to get into the game and pulled one back just before the break when a ball over the top found Jack Kelly who found the corner of the net for the visitors. The 2nd half was also a tight affair and Villa got back on level terms when a free kick by Kelly was dinked over the top and was met by Oisin O Brien who struck to the roof of the net. Villa nearly snatched the victory at the end when another free kick from Kelly was met by the head of Paddy Creedon but the ball was cleared off the line.
U14 Boys National Cup at home Peake Villa 2 - 1 East End United (Kilkenny)
This was the first of three matches played at home. The lack of games for the U14's showed at times and as a result Villa were slow to get into their rhythm and were under a lot of pressure for the first 15 minutes of the game as East End were intent on putting their stamp on the game from early on. Villa weathered the storm with Michael O'Connell making some great saves to keep East End at bay. Both teams had a number of chances to get their first goal with East End breaking the deadlock 5 minutes from the end of the half scoring with a close range shot. Half time Peake Villa 0 - 1 East End.
Villa started the 2nd half playing more direct football and were rewarded when Conor Murphy scored a geat individual goal after beating a number of players from 35 yards out before calmy slotting the ball into the back of the net from inside the 6 yard box. Villa continued to press forward and were awarded a penalty 5 minutes later when Killian Ryan was taken down in the box and Ronan McGuire converted to make it 2 - 1. East End tried their hardest to get the equaliser and put a lot of pressure on the Villa defence, but Villa held out for a memorable win. Thanks to all the ladies who helped out with food for after the game it was very much appreciated by the East End Utd travelling party.
This result puts the 14’s into the 4th round of the National cup where they join the U12’s who are also into the 4th round. This is a first for the club and it is a testament to the work that is being done at Schoolboys level, a great achievement for players and coaches.
U16 Boys League at home Peake Villa 2 - 1 Cahir Park
This was the third meeting of these sides so far this season with Villa winning the first two, so Cahir Park came determined to put Villa under pressure from the kick off. With Cahir Park up for this game and Villa at sixes and sevens for most of the first half, this game was a very tight affair. Cahir Park created a number of chances but their final shot let them down so Villa were very lucky not to be down a few goals in the first half. Half Time Peake Villa 0 - 0 Cahir Park.
The Villa team got their act together for the first 15 minutes of the second half, which saw the team creating a number of chances and preventing Cahir Park any pathway through to the Villa goal. Connor Murphy played a great through ball to Matthew McKevitt on the left side who quickly passed the ball back to the onrushing Colm Pearson who scored from just inside the box. The goal seemed to jump-start Villa who started to play some great passing football and were rewarded again when Jack Hackett collected the ball in the box, turned his marker and slotted a low ground ball shot into the bottom left hand corner. With 10 minutes to go Cahir Park were quickest to react to a shot on goal that came back off the Villa upright to score from inside the six yard box. Villa held on for the win, Final Score Peake Villa 2 - 1 Cahir Park.
Youths League at home Peake Villa 5 - 1 Cahir Park
The weather started to turn as this match kicked off so the conditions were not condusive to playing soccer. Villa started well and Adam Garret scored with just five minutes on the clock. Villa had a number of great chances as they played some fine passing football but where it mattered most in front of goal Villa's final touch seemed to have deserted them. Cahir Park had two very fast strikers playing up front and their speed gave the Villa defence a run for their money. After some fine passing play Matthew Stakelum scored to make it 2 - 0.
In the second half Villa's malaise in front of goal continued to haunt them, as Adam Garret, Billy McCarthy, Dale Loughane and Faolain Linanne all had chances go-a-begging. Adam broke through the middle onto a great pass from Maris Baltins to score with a low shot left of the keeper. This was quickly followed by his hat-trick when Adam rose highest to meet a corner kick and head the ball into the back of the net. Cahir Park never gave up and had a number of shots on goal that were well saved by Villa keeper Willie Tierney. Who scored Villa's final goal was much debated on the side line as Maris swung in a corner that seemed to miss all players and end up in the back of the net, Billy claims he got a knee to it, but the jury on the side line awarded it to Maris to make it 5 - 0. Cahir Park were rewarded for their efforts when catching Villa on the break and scoring from inside the 6 yard box. Final Score Peake Villa 5 - 1 Cahir Park.

Saoirse Teer and Anna Derby had chances to put Villa ahead but were narrowly wide with their shots on goal. Villa's stand in keeper Rebecca Jordan was unlucky when a shot came back off the upright and rebounded on her into the back of the net. Half Time Peake Villa 0 - 1 Clerihan.
Clerihan continued to press forward and were unlucky not to score early in the 2nd half. Villa came more into the game and in one passge of play the ball rebounded of the upright 3 times. U14 Girls away to Clonmel Celtic 1 - 2 Peake Villa
The was a closely contested game with both sides evenly matched. Saoirse O'Meara, Ciara Maher and Lauren McCormack all had chances that were well saved by the Celtic keeper in the first 10 minutes. Both sides found the tight pitch difficult to handle, so both sets of defence were in constant action. With 5 minutes left in the half Villa were awarded a free kick just outside the box, Lauren scored with an excellent free kick into the top left corner, score 1-0 at half time.
Clonmel Celtic scored an equaliser early in the 2nd half, that Saoirse Teer managed to get her fingers too but was unable to keep the ball out of the net. Villa continued to put the pressure on Celtic and a passing combination which started with the left back Sinead Campion, who passed to Lauren McCormack who flicked the ball into the path of Marie Creedon, who hit a low hard ball under the advancing keeper for Villa's second. Villa shut up shop and kept the Clonmel Celtic attack at bay to hold out for a deserved victory.
Junior B away to Dualla 0 - 1 Peake Villa
This was a good win away from home for the boy’s and keeps their push for promotion on track. The 1st half was evenly balanced with very little chances for both sides. Redser O Grady came closest with a 25 yard shot just going wide and a goal by Colm Breen that was ruled off side.
The 2nd half saw Villa take control and nearly take the lead but Liam Mackey’s effort was brilliantly saved by the Dualla keeper. The breakthrough came for Villa in the 70th minute when man of the match Eugene Davy set up David Fitzpatrick whose first touch and smart shot were world class. Dualla tried hard to get something out of the game in the last 10 minutes but the boy’s held out for a great away win.
