Weekend Review Sep 10th
Premier Division League.
Peake Villa (A) 6 Oldbridge 2.
Our A team followed up on last weeks 6-1 win against Tipperary Town in the League with another convincing win against Old Bridge.
Villa started quickly and could have went 1 up in the first minute when James O Sullivan's shot just went wide of the post. Five minutes later they did go ahead wen Adam Garretts cross fell to Mikey Wade at the far post whose shot flew passed the goalie.
There lead was short lived tho when Tipperary were awarded a penalty in the 12th minute which was scored by Shane Power. Against the run of play Bridge went ahead after a mix up in defence saw Martin Kennedy shoot into an open goal. Villa got down to buisness after this and drew level with the goal of the game when Sean Wade passed to O Sullivan on the edge of the box who with a deft touched layed it off to Pippy Carroll whose shot bent straight into the top corner. 2-2 at the break.
Villa pushed on in the second half and on the 50th minute Matthew McKevitt scored from a tight angle to keep his run going of scoring in every game this season. McKevitt got his second in the 55th minute when scoring from close in. Villa were awarded a penalty in the 77th minute and McKevitt was giving the ball to score and secure his second half hatrick. Captain Pippy Carroll finished off a fine performance scoring Villa's 6th in the 86th minute. Final score 6-2.

U15 Premier League.
St Michaels 1 Peake Villa 10
Villa travelled to St Michaels looking to build on a successfully start to the season and they certainly did that in this game. Villa were in front inside 5 minutes Conor Stapleton Headed home a Jack Kelly corner. 2 minutes Later Paddy Creedon was played through on goal by Henry Fogarty, Paddy raced clear of the defence and slotted into the bottom keeper. A Great individual goal from St Michaels brought them back into the game. 5 minute later Villa were awarded a penalty and Conor Stapleton slotted it away. Villa were well on top now and Paddy Creedon got his second moments later. On 20 minutes Conor Stapleton had his hat trick after converting another penalty. Jack Kelly made it 6-1 before half time with a wonderfully struck free kick.
Villa made plenty of changes at the half time interval and the lads that came on were equally as impressive as the lads that went off. Paddy Creedon picked up his hat trick shortly after the break with a fine strike. Liam Mccormack done very well to set up Oisin O Brien who's goal was a wonderful strike from outside the box. Liam Mccormack got a great individual goal and then set up Dillon maher for the 10th of the game. A good win for the lads against a under strength St. Michaels team. All credit to them on never giving up during the match.
U13 Premier Division
St Kevins A 1 Peake Villa A 6
The A team travelled to Newhill for this local derby against St Kevins. Having lost their opening game, the boys started with a high tempo, and took the lead after 2 minutes when Darragh Minogue intercepted a back pass, and went round the keeper before slotting home. Given the boost of the early goal, Villa put the St Kevins team under a lot of pressure and scored again on 4 minutes when Niall Dunne scored a superb goal from 25 yards after receiving a pass from Ciaran Woodlock. A third goal came two minutes later, when Scott Brennan chipped the ball over the defence into Darragh Minogue, who shot past the advancing keeper to put Villa 3-0 up. Villa were unlucky not to score again before half time, as Ciaran Woodlock, had a goal disallowed, Jock Fogarty hit the crossbar with a shot, and Ronan Tangri shot narrowly over after a good move by Villa. Villa started the second half with a bang and created several more chances before a mistake by the Kevin's keeper, who miskicked a clearance to Philip Hayes who chipped ball into the empty goal from 25 yards after 40 minutes. St Kevin's came more into the game after this, and scored from the penalty spot to make the score 4-1. The Villa defence ably led by Siya Ndzingania, quickly closed down, the St Kevins's attackers, and set up a Villa attack, which resulted in Jock Fogarty putting Darragh Minogue through on goal and Darragh completed his hat trick with a neat finish. Villa kept pressing and Darragh Minogue scored his fourth goal, after he tapped home when the keeper saved a good shot from Robbie Stapleton. A superb team performance with each player playing their part. A word of mention to the Villa keeper, Aidan Butler, who played his first league game in goal, and
played very well.
U13 Division 1
Peake Villa B 0 Kilsheelan Utd 0
Villa followed up their open day win, with a hard fought draw against Kilsheelan at the Tower Grounds on Saturday. The first half saw few chances being created with the best of them falling to Kilsheelan as Villa were forced to play a defensive game. The defence held out until half time to leave the score at 0-0 with James Ayilaran to the fore. A more open game followed in the second half as Villa got on the ball more and started to create a few chances. Try as they might, neither team could score, however Villa should have had a penalty, when Alex Moloney was taken down in the penalty box, but the referee waved play on. The game finished 0-0. A fair result, and another good performance from the players who continue to improve with each game.
