FAI Junior Cup Peake Villa 4 -1 Kilmanahan
Villa got through to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup with possibly their poorest display this season with some very poor finishing from a lot of players. Villa took the lead in the last minute of the 1st half through Mattew Fogarty. The second half was more of the same from villa with chance after chance being missed. Villa got their second through Keith Cahill. Kilmanahan then got a goal back when Micheal Fitzgerald scored from a fine drive. Villa then got their third from Matthew Mckevitt after a lovely through ball from Adam Garrett. Anto Walker then finished well in the last minute to secure a the win that puts them into the hat for the next round.
Division Three League Tipperary Town B 0 - 1 Peake Villa B
Another good win for our second team who have made it five wins out of five in the league this season. The boys took the lead early on when David Mahoney scored. In the second half they were well on top but couldn't add a second. They came close on two occasions when Stephen Fewer should have scored and Christy Burke came close with a free kick. Maximum points so far in the league put's them in early contention.
U16 SFAI National Cup Ferrybank (Waterford) 0 - 1 Peake Villa
Performance of the weekend goes to our 16's who travelled to Waterford and had a great win against one of the top teams in the Waterford League. Ferrybank who are a fine club who have produced some great players including Ireland's John O Shea. Both teams were evenly matched early on with the home side coming closest when hitting the post from a superb strike. Villa took the lead in the 9th minute from a great bit of play. Jack Ryan Casey showed great skill near the sideline beating two players and squared the ball to Paddy Stakelum who played a neat pass through to Kevin Patan who's strike went under the body of the goalie to put Villa 1-0 ahead. Ferrybank had a few good chances to equalise but were kept scoreless with some fine saves by the Villa keeper Eoghan Tinkler. The second half was a proper Cup tie with Ferrybank looking for an equaliser and Villa defending excellently with a fine performance from the back four and a man of the match performance from Jordan Fahy. Ferrybank couldn't find a way through with some more fine saves from Tinkler in the Villa goal at the very end.
U16 Girls League St.Kevins 0 - 1 Peake Villa
This was a close contest with both defences playing very well. There were limited chances throughout. The Villa goal came two minutes into the second half when Queava O Meara scored the all important goal. This was the girls first League game and it was a good team performance.
