Junior A FAI Junior Cup 5th Round Knocknaheeny Celtic (Cork) 1 - 4 Peake Villa
Villa travelled to Cork Saturday for their FAI Cup tie and put in an excellent performance. They started well and went ahead in the 4th minute when good play from Sean Wade and Jamie Maher put Dale Loughnane through who crossed to the far post where Mikey Wade was waiting to drive the ball to the back of the net. Knocknaheeny came close to a equaliser in the 10 minute when Shane Blake came close hitting the post. A Sean Wade free kick in the 14th minute found the head of Loughnane who just headed wide. Knocknaheeny would have equalised in the 33rd minute only for a great double save by Stephen Ryan. Loughnane had a great opportunity to put Villa 2 up just before the break when a great header by Pippy Carroll put him through one on one with the keeper who made a fine save. 0-1 at Half Time.
Villa were quick out of the traps in the second half and were awarded a penalty in the 49th minute when Loughnane was taking down. Pippy Carroll took the penalty which was saved excellently by Graham Murphy in Knocknaheeny goal. Villa went 2-0 up in the 60th minute when Matthew McKevitt put Loughnane through with his shot giving the goalie no chance. It got even better for Villa in the 65th minute when a great ball by Carroll put Mikey Wade through for his second of the game. Knocknaheeny didn't go away and got one back in the 67th minute when Blake scored from 4 yards out when there was a mixup in the Villa defence. Knocknaheeny could not cope with the pace of Villa who were in their faces all day and Loughnane was a thorn in their side coming close again in the 75th minute from another Carroll pass. The two linked up again in the 82nd minute and secured the tie when Loughnane made it 4-1 in the 82nd minute. Loughnane nearly secured his Hatrick in the 92nd minute which would have been well deserved, but just shot wide. A great team performance with Sean Wade, Mikey Wade and Dale Loughnane putting in excellent performances. Very hard to pick a man of the match with the whole team playing excellent. A young side that are playing some excellent football under the guidance of manager James O Sullivan and assistant manager Jody Brolin.

U15 Premier League Cahir Park 2 - 8 Peake Villa
The lads travelled to Cahir on Saturday looking to keep a very good run which has seen them unbeaten in Tipperary for over a year . It was a stunning performance from the players from the first minute. Villa pressed Cahir in the opening 10 minutes and only for some very good goalkeeping would have found themselves ahead. However on 10 minutes the breakthrough came when Oisin O'Brien played a perfectly weighted pass through to Kieran Boyle who slotted past the keeper from 10 yards out . Minutes later Villa had a second when a stunning Liam McCormack pass from left to right found Jack Kelly in the box and his half volley went straight into the top corner. 5 minutes later Jack Kelly set Dillon Maher up with a lovely pass into the box where Dillon turned his marker and fired home to the top corner. It was Cathal McElgun who played a ball inside to Liam McCormack who chipped the keeper from 20 yards. It was 6-0 when Liam McCormack and Jack kelly combined again with an exact copy of the second goal to give Jack his second. A neat one two between Liam McCormack and Kieran Boyle resulted in Kieran hitting the top corner from 20 yards with a brilliant strike. It was 7-0 at half time.
The second half was a more relaxed affair where Villa's finishing wasn't as clinical. Mark McCarthy got Villa's 8th after James Armstrong played him through on goal. Cahir got two goals late on which were well deserved for their efforts. A very good performance from all the squad today.
