Premier Division League Peake Villa 9 - 0 Galbally
Peake Villa entertained Galbally Sunday morning in the league and ran out comfortable winners.
They took the lead after 10 minutes when Mattew Fogarty scored. They went two up in the 20th minute when Adam Garrett scored. Kevin Croke made it 3-0 just before the half time break. The game was over as a contest by halftime and this gave the Villa manager James O Sullivan and his assistant Jody Brolin the opportunity to use their squad players. The goals came thick and fast in the second half with Captain Pippy Carroll scoring two adding to his impressive tally for the season. Jamie Maher scored two in quick succession to make it 7-0 with minutes to go. A Keith Cahill free kick was fumbled by the goalie which made it 8. The biggest cheer of the game went up when Maris Baltins made it 9-0 breaking his vudu of not scoring in a couple of seasons. A professional performance from the boy's who now look forward to the draw Wednesday evening to see who awaits them in the quarter finals of the Fai Junior Cup.
Peter O Reilly Cup semi final Peake Villa B 4 - 0 Cahir Park B
Peake Villa B played Cahir Park B in the semi-final of the Peter O Reilly cup on Sunday at the Tower Grounds. The first half hour was tight with the best chance falling to Cahir when the ball broke behind the Villa defence and the Cahir forward hit the post. Villa opened the scoring in the thirtieth minute when a Ronan McGuire shot was saved by the goalie and the ball fell to Jody Mahoney who made no mistake finishing well. Cahir Park pushed hard in the second half for the equaliser but were leaving space at the back and in the 63rd minute a long ball out of defence by Davy Bannon was picked up by Ronan McGuire who ran at the Cahir defence and gave the goalie no chance finishing in the bottom corner. Another breakaway goal in the 79th minute when Ronan made the game safe and Kevin Quinn scored a minute from the end to give villa a 4-0 win.
Another great performance from the lads sees them in the final where Clonmel Town B awaits them.
